CHARACTER
Name: Arachne
Canon: Smite
Age: over 3000 years old/looks to be in her mid to late 30’s.
Timeline: Current in game timeline (there isn’t much of a story)
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A

Personality: Arachne is a very proud and boastful woman. She looks down on almost everyone around her and feels like no one is better than herself. She mocks people weaker then herself, and is very offended if you slight her in anyway. She takes these as personal threats against her, and will go out of her way to knock you down a few pegs. When she kills certain people in gme, she will make a point to taunt them about looks or smells ("Hanging around that pig too much, you're starting to smell like one!" (Artemis), "You could've survived this, if you bothered to put on some clothes!" (Neith))

She does care about her children, and is always looking for a new home or food for them. She always wants to expand her territory, and is very protective of it. She will say lines like, "Feast, my children! There will be enough for everyone tonight!" when she finds a large prey for her children. She also pets them and hugs them when she is in a good mood. However, if in a bad mood, she sometimes will take it out on her children, tossing them across the room into walls.
Arachne is also quite calculating, and never charges right into something unless she is 100% sure she will come out on top. This mainly has to do with fighting and attacking others. She enjoys setting traps and waiting for her pray to walk into it before striking. She is always looking for nice places to set up traps or ambushes.

Arachne Loaths Athena, and many other greek gods due to her past. She also dislikes anyone who looks up to the gods and praise their glory. She will argue with anyone, and perhaps even attack, people like that out of rage. As for Athena, she looks for any chance she can to kill the goddess of wisdom, for revenge of the past.

For all this, if you can befriend Arachne, she will open up slowly. She thinks everyone views her as a monster, and if you do not, she will be a bit more friendly. Even with friends she acts tsun and rarely will praise others, but she will look out for you without outright telling you. She feels a bond towards other people cursed by the gods though, and is not as harsh to them.

Abilities: Arachne, as the first spider, can do anything a spider can do, but better given her size and strength. She can climb on walls and ceilings with increased movement and can sneak up quietly. She can Spin webs in a snap to form walls when her broodlings hid in, and also cover the air above her in a web only she can see with little effort. She can wrap her claws in web to increase her attack speed, as well as to quickly wrap someone in a cocoon. Her bites are quite poisonous, allowing her to quickly poison someone for a while, but also healing herself from the blood she sucked when she infected them. She can lay egg sacks which stay dormant till a foe is close, or Arachne hatches them, releasing spiderlings. She can launch a tether of web that travels fast and lets her pull anyone it touches to her.

Arachne is also an amazing weaver, her work being considered better than the gods themselves. Full tapestries she can make with little effort. She can also make clothes, blankets, and other things using fabrics or her own web.

First Person: [The video opens with a what looks like a woman’s face, but its soon obvious it’s not a normal woman, as the multiple eyes on her head blink and stare at the odd device. The lady tilts her head and pokes the screen before saying anything.]

So this is one of those devices the humans use? The gods must be envious of their ingenuity.
[The lady smirks]

Well now, it seems I have to introduce myself to you humans. You may call me Arachne mortals. As long as you don’t harm my babies, we’ll get along smoothly~

[A spider crawls up from behind arachne’s head and sits in her bosom.]
There there my dear. I’m sure we’ll find someone who’s willing to feed you here, hehehe.

Third Person: It is the dead of night, and the wind is blowing slightly, shaking the large webs strong between the trees. Spiders skitter and scrurry around, carrying little bits and bobs towards their mother, who is sitting in a large nest in the center of the webbed woods. She smiles as her babies return to her, and holds out her hands.

“Come my children, what have you gathered for me today?”

The first spiders come a few wallets. They drop them into Arachne’s hands and squeak softly. Arachne opens them up and spills the contents onto the floor: a bunch of bills and coins. “Good work, this should do nicely. I’ve wanted to spruce up this place, it is quite drab, and it’s quite expensive to get furniture to handle my beautiful body.”

The next group of spiders come and drop their prize, a pretty hand mirror with a ornate rim. Arachne picks it up and examines herself in it.

“What a nice present you have found for me. It looks like it we made with a Greek flair to it as well…”

She loses herself in thought, thinking of home as she turns it to examine the back. However, her face quickly turns into a scowl as she sees what is on it: A bust of Athena, the goddess of wisdom. She a bloodcurdling snarl she heaves the mirror at the floor, scattering her spider babies.
“Athena!! Curse her for all of eternity. I may be stuck her, but I will find a way to escape and kill you once and for all!”

She glares at her spiders and bats her arm out. “Leave me! I want to be alone. Go find yourselves dinner tonight.”

The spiders look at Arachne for a moment, then scurry off, knowing that its not wise to have her ask anything a second time. Arachne looks down at a shard of the broken mirror, it reflecting her twisted face, and sighs. She slowly exits her nest and makes her way onto the top of the tree it is built in. When she reaches to top she sits down, and stares out at the stars above, losing herself in thought.
